Look at this for a hair-raising description of a nation:

travel.state.gov

Lagos, a city of 10 million, does not have a single operating traffic light.

<"We uphold your conviction of death by stoning as prescribed by the sharia. This judgement will be carried out as soon as your baby is weaned," the lead judge told Lawal, who sat before the bench cradling her eight-month-old daughter.>

I guess that her baby will be breast fed until it's 25 years old and has taken over Nigeria and changed the political system from a barbaric stone age low IQ Zombie Zone to some semblance of civilization.

Do Nigerians know how absurd they seem? Ken Saro-Wiwa was murdered by the alpha chimpoid male. Their stupid scams are the laughing stock of the world [though they obviously get enough response to make it worthwhile]. I can't recall anything good about Nigeria, except that it's in a warm place, which is good, but nothing to do with the chimpoid barbarians running the show.

<A cry of "Allahu Akbar" resounded around the packed courtroom as Lawal, a shy and slight village woman dressed in a bright red dress and deep purple open-faced veil, burst into tears.>

To be stoned to death for creating life, which is not really a crime with a victim, is as evil as it gets. Crimes should have victims, or at least the statistical risk of some [such as driving a 747 while drunk and incapable].

Let the war against head-hacking mindless Moslem maniacs continue!

There were some very good things about British and even French colonisation. It imposed a new and improved version of ethics and morality for a start, not to mention a political system enabling far greater fulfillment of people's aspirations for a long and happy life.

Boycotting Nigerian oil and Nigerian anything is a good way to tame them. Ban Nigerians from attending any overseas thing. Seal the dump off from the outside world. It's the ruling people who get to do the travel, so they'd feel the pinch - they also keep the oil money. CB and her SUV would not willfully fund the stoning of Amina. Maybe boycotting Shell, which has a substantial stake in Nigeria, is not a bad idea. Boycott any company doing any business in Nigeria.

Okay, Shell is the first to feel the financial touch. No more petrol buying by me from Shell. They'll have to promote United Nations reconstitution and control of Nigeria if they want to deal with Nigeria. The United Nations has given some critical report on NZ human rights, in regard to refugees. They might more usefully go upstream to where the refugees are created rather than hassling us for not giving them a cushy-enough life when they illegally invade our country.

Snowshoe:

Your post makes a very effective counterpoint to all the bitching about US cultural imperialism.

Though our elected leaders are more than capable of engaging in knee-jerk stupidity (i.e. the TSA), the founding fathers gave the US a written Constitution and Bill of Rights that are still a revered part of daily life. Though some may object to our frenetic, excessive McDonald's culture, the team on the other bench consists of insane women-hating head hackers.
