Perhaps. But the wide, and high level, leaking of the briefing indicates that there was a political agenda behind it. And I, for one, find the briefing's talking points that the greatest danger to US interests lies with our putative 'allies', Saudi Arabia and Pakistan... rather than 'Axis of Evil' members such as the Iraqi 'thugocracy', or the failing theocracy in Iran. Our 'friends' ain't so friendly to democractic values, and relying on them is like building a foreign policy on shifting sands... as we did when basing our policies on support for the Shah.
