the faculty academic culture is more entrepeneurial

Speaking as a real entrepreneur, I must shake my head in wonderment at your use of the word.

I recognize that academics must publish or perish, and that they must successfully obtain grants in order to advance. But what do they risk?

They have to "sell" ideas, but it's an easy sell if you tell people what they want to hear.

Does your faculty have many right-wingers? People who voted for Nixon, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II?

I think you might want to retract that line. John. "A bunch of bureaucratic backbiters" is closer to the mark. Any faculty tea would point that out. :^)
