I thought my use of the term "entrepeneurial" in that context would get a rise. I meant by entrepeneurial the lack of a hierarchical work structure, as I said, the necessity of working on one's own, yada yada. As for risk, last time I checked authoring a long article or a book was a vast ego risk. I'm certain you've seen folk devastated by bad reviews. As for telling people what they want to hear, what does that have to do with anything. I'm not talking about writing about politics; I'm talking about writing within their fields. The number of right wingers on my faculty has nothing whatsoever to do with that argument.
