From the reliable Jane's, pre-9/11:

>>Al-Qaeda ('The Base') is a conglomerate of groups spread throughout the world operating as a network. It has a global reach, with a presence in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, Jordan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Xinjiang in China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Mindanao in the Philippines, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya, Tunisia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Dagestan, Kashmir, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Azerbaijan, Eritrea, Uganda, Ethiopia, and in the West Bank and Gaza.<<

If we are to defeat Al Qaeda by force, we will have to use a lot of force in a lot of places.

I don't see any way out of it.

I don't see any alternative.

Al Qaeda.

The NEA does not want that name used. "Not right to assign blame until they have been legally convicted. someone might get their feelings hurt." Phew!

Curious, John....Using the same thought process you just used, how would you describe a group of humans from the US, or from Germany, or Africa, or Iraq, etc...that decided to fly planes, or deliver biological weapons etc to any country in the world....killing THOUSANDS, if not HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of people?

Murderers then?

And since the word "Muslim" describes a religion, are there ANY other religions in the world that have a large portion of members of their religion who vow to kill any other large portion of humans on the planet??? I can't think of any. Can you?
