But where the administration has failed, miserably, is linking al-Qaida as one of the terrorist groups sponsored by Iraq. There's just no proof for this connection

actually, a serendipitous discovery just occurred, which I think is bs. Message 17904339

I don't believe proving a connection to Al Quaeda is necessary....

Let me put this gently to you, Nadine. If this evidence did exist, the chancellor of Germany wouldn't have called our intent to invade Iraq an "adventure". And our friendly and fuzzy neighbors to the north, the Canucks, would have surely supported us.

You think so? I look at European behavior vis-a-vis Arafat and Palestinian terrorism, where evidence is abundant and unassailable. Know what? They still don't support any military response. I think Mr. Kney-Tal had the right of it -- the Europeans (and Canadians too) are socked into a rational-diplomatic mindset that says two sides MUST always be at fault in a conflict and resolution MUST always be achievable by negotiations, and ONLY negotiations. And if that is your mindset, then there isn't evidence enough in the world to make you approve of a military venture.

As for what evidence there is, let's talk about this again in a month or so, and see.
