Re govt bank bailouts, you think it's different in Europe ? Ever hear of Credit Lyonnais to name one ? No, frankly, it is far from perfect in the US, but when you look at our competition... I'm looking forward to buying a second residence in France, but can't see actually trying to make any money there. Additional checks and balances will be put in as a result of the current boom-bust cycle, but hopefully in homeopathic doses. I'd rather not see the innovation that the USA is capable of stifled by socialist meddling; I seriously doubt the internet for use by the general public could ever have happened with the statist attitude that prevails in Europe.
