Marek, that's the "I am a Mindless Zombie and it's NOT my fault that I murdered, stole, raped and destroyed" argument. Actually, statistics show that death by hanging kept murder rates low and when the death penalty was dropped, the murder rate started zooming. Of course, there are many factors affecting such statistics so the statistics aren't really a proof. But more importantly, the production of such people should be cut off at source. Much of it is welfare-created because the state pays people to have and cruelly treat children as cash flow sources. The children of the state grow up angry and violent and it isn't surprising that they pay back with antisocial attacks. It's easier to stop producing a problem than tidying up the mess afterwards. But criminals still choose each action they make, so there's plenty of room to make them think twice or thrice before deciding it's worth being canned, literally or merely imprisoned. Mqurice
