How do we protect vulnerable women in countries like Nigeria where a radical interpretation of Shariah is being enforced?

Seems a hopeless task... you figure, the Palestinians with their well financed UN propaganda machine without equal in the world can't get "protection", does anyone in their right mind dream of real progress being made on such issues as women's rights ? Not to mention the religious right ayatollahs right here in the USA with what seems some control over the purse strings on aid programs for women in the world. (flack over contraception, or abortion, or whatever the last footdragging excuse was about unblocking funds...)

address the needs of women in the US war on terror.

It is "their culture," John. We have business interfering in how they deal with women in "their culture." Do you think you have the right to criticize how the Muslims do things? What are you, a "Kipling" type? Do you want to "pick up the White Man's Burden?" :^)

The War on Women

John, you posted this piece, and I quickly posted a "snide" reply. But now that I think about it, I am trying to figure out where you are on the Muslim Culture.

When Nadine posted Steyn's column about the vile behavior of Muslim men toward women in Europe, cause by their upbringing in the Muslim culture, you wrote words to the effect that the article should not have been posted.

Did you like the this article because it was written in an sober manner by someone from "Human Rights Watch," a left wing group you approve of, instead of in a sarcastic manner by a conservative columnist, who you disapprove of?

It's the same culture, and the same vile behavior, in both cases. You seem to be willing to discuss it when it is brought up by someone on the left, but consider it evil, and "beyond the pale," if brought up by someone on the right.
