Elmer, have you seen some of the articles that are being posted around the Net regarding Hammer? Seems like AMD is expecting a lot of IPC improvement from x86-64 extensions, especially the larger register file.

I wonder what that means for "QuantiSpeed." Are they going to base it on 32-bit performance, or x86-64 performance? If it's the latter, it seems AMD will be resorting to recompiling programs for performance, i.e. the very "sin" that AMDroids accuse Intel of doing with Pentium 4.
