what is the overall short interest on Nasdaq these days? How does it stand up historically?

Can this October be a month of tax write-off "short covering" (where shorts cover their losers to lock in their losses), or will it be the same as always where longs sell their losers to lock their losses! In the first case (if comes ture) this October can result in the mother of all short squeezes, or in the later case may result in the mother of all sell offs. Both depend on how many people have been shorting the market, how much is shorted and whether this recent rally will continue into mid/end of September (taking DOW over 10,000 and Nasdaq over 1550-1600)>.

Your thoughts are appreciated....

Low P/C is not a top indicator as much as high P/C is a bottom indicator.
