Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the link to 1983 and Lebannon, quehubo...Hopefully, you are right...in that maybe we will as a Nation, have the will to address the problems we must deal with. Our very lives and civilization as we know it, depend on the hope that we will. On September 11, I found myself within eyesight of the WTC on a college campus surrounded by Muslim foriegn exchange students watching the CNN broadcast and looking at the horror not to far away. I had the dubious distinction to take a class of one Professor Barbara Foley who made some comments to the WSJ that the US was at fault for this attack as a result of our fascist policies.

quehubo, the attacks and murder of Americans has got nothing to do with Moslems, who are peace-loving people who love freedom. It is completely a coincidence that in one or two countries where Moslems hold the political power there have been a few untoward incidents. I've realized that I made a wild generalization and mischaracterized the beatific nature of Islam. It's easy to slip into such false stereotyping. The planned stoning to death of the Nigerian mother for having a baby without some legal document is nothing to do with Islam. The Head-Hacking of two young men in the Philippines was nothing to do with their attackers being Moslem. The Head-Hacking of Stan Shaw and the 3 Americans in Chechnya wasn't because their attackers were Islamic. The brave freedom fighter who helped Head-Hack the Jewish captive and displayed his red hands for the world to see wasn't motivated by anything other than love of freedom. Daniel Pearl wasn't head-hacked, live, then dead, on video because his attackers were Moslem [they might well have been Orthodox Christians just wanting to make a snuff movie as an artform for all I know]. Head-Hacking is common in many countries around the world and there is no correlation or causal association with religious attitudes. In New Zealand for example, there are shrunken, tattooed heads which were sold as interesting souvenirs to early 19th century European visitors and they were popularly kept by victors in tribal wars. Demand for these hacked heads, tattooed and shrunken was so great that people were captured, enslaved, tattooed, Head-Hacked, shrunken and sold - their bodies going into the hangi [earth oven] for dinner. It was a good export trade at the time. English cultural norms used to be to put Hacked Heads on pikes, much like a street lamp. In Rwanda, there was some enthusiastic Head-Hacking. In Cambodia during the reign of Pol Pot, there were excellent collections of skulls. The French were Head-Hacking by the tumbril-full for a while. Japanese used swords and the trick was to use a single diagonal downwards blow so that a good portion of the torso came off too. It was poor form to take several goes at it. So it's obvious that Head-Hacking is nothing whatsoever to do with Islam. The common feature of all the Head-Hacking is people with 98% chimp DNA, with XY chromosomes and significant levels of testosterone poisoning. The Head-Hacking also occurs in the lower quartile socio-economic areas of the world - there's little of it in wealthy places like Luxembourg, Lichenstein or Canada, though a testosterone-poisoned XY chromosomic young chimpoid in wealthy Japan Head-Hacked a student and put their head on the school gate. The solution to head-hacking is to euthanase chimpoids with Y chromosomes and high levels of testosterone and use cloning, genetic engineering and embryo transplant as the reproductive method, instead of the current random mutation method with half the population running around with Y chromosomes, testosterone, only 2% human DNA and an axe to grind. Islam is a religion of peace. When the world is all Moslem, there will be peace. Peace be upon us. The foreign policy of the USA should be to eliminate all non-USA Y-chromosome chimpoids under age 50. Hmmm. That's not going to be good for cdma2000 sales and my QUALCOMM share price. Maybe there's another idea. Mqurice
