Cutting corners is allowed however in suitable circumstances. See 'The List of Exemptions and

It is widely acknowledged that there are no abolutes in law, and the penalties for breaking any of the strictures of any religious law are not clearly defined within the texts. It does not say what the penalty is for breaking any of the ten commandments, if there is any at all.

It should be emphasized that law is a matter of degree.
It is up to the circumstances as to how one is judged.
