Picking entry points for these stocks is a tremendously difficult thing to do now. First, I could be completely wrong about the SOX falling as low as 243. However if the numbers in the Bank of America report (Shared here by Michael Happel) come to pass then it is highly likely:

What I would suggest is that we wait until we see the following technical criteria met before accumulating more shares long in our personal favorites.

Lets wait for the RSI on the 6 month SOX chart to fall back to around 30% or below:

Second wait for a penetration of the lower Bollinger band now at 282 on the Six Month Daily chart and then allow that to play out over several sessions even though we could miss the next bottom in absolute terms we won't be catching falling knifes.

When that happens then we can look over the individual stocks for accumulation points. On the next upswing we may be buying well above 243 most likely around 282. This entire rally and recent sell off has been on light volume. The thing that sticks out clearly to me is that the SOX has only been leading to the downside. The NASDAQ has dragged the SOX up on the upswing. The SOX has dragged the NASDAQ down on the downward swings.

When it comes time to determine entry points on individual stocks we can use long term monthly charts like this one on AMAT and decide where the best entry may be.

Could be right around 10 for AMAT if we hit 243. On KLIC, I have no idea as it has completely broken down.

There is most likely a lot of upside for KLIC in the next couple of years but it could head a lot lower first.
