Way cool - Pravda makes fun of Thierry Meyssan and 9/11 - the Big Lie. Hope for the Russkis yet.

"Any truth in Pravda?" In Russian, Pravda means the truth!

I respectfully disagree with Debka on the "four thousand US troops that came out of the two US navy ships out of Aqaba ten days ago". The boats were too small, about two hundred fifty feet each, one loaded with big helicopters and miscellanous equipment, the other one heavy duty equipment and workshop facility. US troops could have come by air though, as traffic was three folds on those first days, (read three planes a day).

Every day at sunrise, the troops (those still on board) exercise on the deck, and I must testify that the moves they made were not at all similar to those we may see in movies (Biloxy Blues etc), as they seem to dance. Lifting their weight from one leg onto the other while three (possibly) officers faced the men, directing.

I interpret it as a program intented to decieve the enemy spies, as to let them think the navy had become real soft.

On sunday afternoon, as the boys were swimming between the vessels, they adopted the Weissmuller style, while protected by the whole Jordanian navy. Read four boats totaling a good two hundred feet, (or a bit more than the king's yacht), and six machine guns.

Those Jordanian boats never left the vincinity of your ships during the whole stay and nothing "Cole like" could have happened to them.

As both vessels left, three days ago, in a perfect Mac Arthurian style, read, parading at less than two miles an hour, as to let the enemy know that they ain't escaping and will most probably come back. With friends.

Hi CobaltBlue; Re Pravda's announcement that the US is going to attack Iraq. Here's some more links from Pravda saying the same thing, and also being very wrong:

US THREATENS RUSSIA WITH NUCLEAR ATTACK
March 9, 2002
Americans are irritated with the militants’ resistance, and they are even ready to use nuclear weapons to finish such battles as soon as possible. The Americans wanted to use low-powered nuclear bombs, which were already used their war in Vietnam and, later, in Iraq. Therefore, why not no use them now, in another country? The United States is transferring nuclear weapons from storage to its battle arsenal and plans to use nuclear weapons against other countries.

IRAQ: COUNTDOWN TO D-DAY
The demonology and the rhetoric are under way. Pet hate names like “So damn insane” (USA) and “Sod him Hussein” (UK) accompany a consistent and growing hysteria in the press that a sustained, all-out attack on Baghdad is imminent.
...
In the United States, there are rumours that the attack could be launched in October.
