Let me ask you, how would you sell a processor by an unknown firm against an entrenched competitor, if your CPU had higher IPC? How would you show the customer which CPUs have equivalent performance? I'd rely on deception. I'd produce a benchmark that stressed the operations that I was good at and defeature the operations I was bad at. I'd make a benchmark so phoney that it would make AMD envious. EP
