Thanks for the question--first of all please call me Andy, Mr. Seybold is way too formal for my taste <g>. I am disappointed at the way Verizon and Sprint PCS are marketing 1X also but stand by--we are doing, as others are too, real world tests to show the difference between 1X and GPRS--the test, downloading email to a notebook while also opening a web-site really shows off the differences--12 seconds for Verizon vs 62 Seconds for Cingular's GPRS system on average--I think once we start getting data like that out you will see the differences--please note that using a "phone" the differences are not nearly as noticable as when using a laptop.
