>> on what US policy should be going forward toward sadaam and bin laden
"What should the creator of Frankenstein do after they discover they created Frankenstein ?
Killing these people will not by itself improve the conditions that create more people like them."

On the contrary, killing frankenstein would not necessarily create more frankensteins. That would depend on what future policies were followed. We killed Hitler and Germany did not produce another. Allowing Sadaam and bin laden to thrive however certainly would create more frankensteins around the world.
"To start with, for each country that the US deals with, is to ask, what does "justice" demand ?"
Ask sadaam and bin laden what does justice demand? Come on now. And by the way Miami Hispanics are from cuba and certainly entitled to their opinion(correct in my view) toward castro.

RE: "...not how to curry favor with some ethnic voting block...there are other examples of course."

We don't need veiled references here. Be explicit! I don't want to be upset and not be sure of what you are saying!
