No "culture" is trying to kill us; it's a gang called Al Qaeda.

Not just Al Qaeda -- Hizbullah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Muslim Brotherhood, the FIS nutters in Algeria, the various head-hackers in Pakistan and the Phillipines, are all ideological soulmates here. They come from the same political and religious ideology, one formed by Qutb and Wahabbism and spread by Saudi-funded indoctrination. It's called Islamism or Radical Islam. An entire philosophy, world view and view of history (a specifically unhistorical view of history) come along with the package. If it's not a culture, I'd like to know what is.

In an earlier post, you claimed that NE American culture was somehow a distinct culture from SW Texas American culture, distinct enough for notice. Yet now we cannot look beyond Al Qaeda to its ideological underpinnings (separate from the surrounding majority cultural milieu) because that would invite a 'clash of civilizations'? I have a news flash for you. The entire raison d-etre of an Al Quaeda is a clash of civilizations; they want to start one with us to return the Ummah to its pure roots, or some such nonsense.

And one has to wonder why he's so worked up over multiculturalism. But we all know why. He's trying to use 9-11 to discredit things he doesn't like. An old tactic but one that should not be supported.

No, John, he's not. He's really not. He always hated multiculturalism and the cult of tolerance (as have I). He has just found new urgency in combating it, lest we lay ourselves open to the next attack because of it.
