OT Your post to me was dismissive, demeaning and belittling. That was rude of you to attempt to refute my posts in that manner. But no, I wasn't playing tit for tat. I was merely pointing out that I recognized the fact that post to me was pejorative. Since, I presume, most folks here are not attorneys, should we all cease posting our views and information because we can't argue the law in minutiae? This is a forum where people express their ideas, opinions. This is not a court. If it were, I'd have my attorney present.

I think Karens problem is that she forgets (or didn't know) that Bush and Ashcroft agree with her. Their problem was that while we all feel Lind was guilty of treason, the constitutional requirement for a conviction is almost impossible to meet. Hence the treatment he received and the plea-bargain. Now for the other two - one is an isolated nut, turned in by his own family, who actually did not carry out any of his planned activities. Nutcases are impacted and influenced by current events - but they are not organized. As for the Padilla case - we know little. But (imo) his alignment with the only organization we all agree is at war with us makes him an enemy combatent. Freedom of speech and assembly did not make a US Nazi party possible during WW2. Known Nazi agents were arrested, the sabotuers were executed. When you become and enemy combatent your rights are moot. John
