Wow, lots of nicely formed H&S patterns out there tonight.

SPX measures to 900, NDX to around 922, COMP to around 1294.

Want to know an important level for this week? 1328 COMP. Why? That's the end of July close that got printed on statements mailed out. SPX 911.62 is the same deal, as is 8736 Dow.

If the MM's are going to make statements look nice this month, we should be above those levels at the end of the week, and with maybe a 1-2% cushion built in for a nice 1-month return.

That makes me believe we could drop to the 1300 COMP range and rise up to 1355 COMP for end of month window dressing. SPX 930 is also a nice target for Friday if it drops to 900 this week. We could get those levels in a day and change if we needed to.

Just trying to keep a decent perspective on things here. The NDX level is 962 for July 31, so a nice cushion would be 980.

The re-trace shows a drop to around 1290 and a rise up to around 1328 or so. I think that could be stretched a bit for window dressing <G>.

I'll probably re-enter puts tomorrow on any strength, if any can be found (I don't think we just drop from the get go, as that would be too easy).

Fibs to watch are around 1336 COMP, which is the 50% re-trace of the 1264-1426 COMP run. Also 1445 COMP is the .382 re-trace of the entire move up from 1192 to 1426.

1308 is also about the 50% re-trace of the move up from 1192 to 1426. 1290 is a .618 re-trace of the move up from 1206-1426.

Justa,
Reopened my short position at eod after closing my longs last week. Actually, closed my longs a few days too early, but like you say any profit in this market good. Beginning to think this rally has run its course for now. Worried that I might be a little early in reopening my shorts, but I think upside from here is limited.
