Saddam probably figures he can get away with it. He has for years and the rest of the world doesn't seem to be backing the idea of US military action against him. Tim

Tim, okay, we know that Saddam knows we are not a paper tiger based on our behavior in 1991. However, according to D. Ray, Clinton was a wuss and Sodom knew that and violated the weapons agreement. So now we have Bush who brings a whole new meaning to machismo.....honest, fearless and competent......why is Saddam not more afraid and more willing to comply with the weapons' agreement? If you remember anything about the Gulf War it should be that James Baker made repeated attempts to negotiate a resolution with Aziz. When it came down to it, Baker told Aziz that he must understand that "this is the last opportuntity to avoid a full scale war" and Aziz dutifully said, "So be it". Saddam isn't a chicken, he is a fool. And it may take military action to force compliance again. So what are we waiting for? Make no mistake. We are where we are today for one reason and one only: Clinton's Iraq policy was a dismal failure, as a result of his weakness in dealing with Saddam. Had the polls indicated we should take Saddam out in '98 I'm certain that Clinton, "Mr Conservative" (Stop while I LMAO some more) would have done so.
