poor flappy, reality is in the numbers. In most ignorant peoples mind the Spanish Inquisition is associated with hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands tortured and murdered and also described as a genocide. I cited a post where individuals had looked at and reported actual numbers.
The numbers came from the prolific documents of that time.
Show me the numbers.

Another fact, It is documented that many common criminals ot the time attempted to be charged with heresy because the treatment and legal process associated with trying heretics was orders of magnitude more humain than criminal dungeons.

Documented only a few were killed a year. That was bad and wrong. I donot believe those killer were tortured to make them confess. Thru a very detailed examination and trial where they were represented by a lawyer they were found guilt of lying about there conversion to Christianity and reverting back to their former religion of whatever Jewish or Islam. The idea of this as a crime was disgusting and vile. I'd say slavery was a far more disgusting and and vile crime looking back with a modern informed perspective.

But there was no massive torture and killing in Spanish Inquisition proper. In America a few of those arrested have been tortured into confessing. But as all Americans revile such conduct those conducting the stupid Spanish Inquisition rejected torture.

But are there some bad American and were there some bad Spanish who if asked would say they smoked but did not inhale. I think so.
