I think the problem is with baseball you cant share the TV money like Basketball and football. Owners will spend thats the nature of the beast, The players will have to give up something to sustain the system. Frankly most teams dont make that much money outside of the super franchises. IMHO I also dont believe in guarenteed contracts, I like Football where the team can realease you if you dont perform. If Baseball had such a system there would be money for the superstars, at the expense of the Mo Vaughns, and Chuck Knoublaughs of the world. It would also eliminate the urge for LONG term contracts. i believe someone should get paid as much as the market will bear, but why should they be able to lock in those rights for 5-10 years. Most contracts in the ral world for execs is 2-3 years and all have buyouts. IMHO
