well there in lies a GREAT question. Gold rise means one of two things 1)Inflation or 2)dollar weakness. neither of which is good for stocks, unless the market is pricing in deflation and Inflation is welcomed as the lessor of two evils in the short term. The conumdrum for me has been the rise in gold in the face of Bonds rallying. It makes maping the FA here very tough as you have signs of both inflation and deflation. The CRB,OIL,GOLD are screaming inflation but TNX and massive overcapacity say NO WAY. Unless gold is getting bid up by certain groups like Saudis who are pulling money out, but then they would be selling bonds? This is why Ive been saying that there are many cross curents that are not ading up.
