That is where you err. The George Lvov revolution was in February 1917 with Kerensky taking power in July 1917 and was over by October 1917.

You make an assumption that the people of Russia could have just stopped the political changes during the summer of 1917 or even realize what changes were in progress. I don't think the Soviet Union really took shape until Stalin had Lenin poisoned in 1924.

I don't think it is reasonable to assume that these people in August during their own civil war in the midst of a world war had reached it's optimal potential.
