Grow up. Its about jobs and economic vitality. This is our only security. Why should my future be dependent on the whim of some whacko in Baghdad? Why should that whacko be able to hold the world's economy hostage? And why should that whacko be able to fund people who want to kills us for no other reason than because we are Americans....

You use imperialism like its a bad word. I see no problem in spreading American ideals like peace and democracy around this globe...

At worst, it would put us in the league of Great Britain in the 19th century, which is not such a bad thing. However, our situation is more like Chamberlain's in the '30s--- should we enter into conflict with a brutal and ambitious dictator, bent on hegemony, before he gets too powerful, or should we get along while he builds his arsenals, and let him decide the moment and terms of confrontation?
