I disagree. If the benchmark has been changed (and it's obvious that every year changes are made to the testing methodology, and the applications being used), then even relative scores have no connection between SysMark versions. The fact that the Pentium 4 beats the Athlon by a wider margin in SysMark 2002 is simply because the applications and testing methodology has been changed to fit Bapco's idea of the most current usage model.

Now, the question remains, what is the usage model, and what research has Bapco done to make that usage model accurately reflect the way that people use their computers? I believe that Bapco should make this information publicly available so that people can decide for themselves if the benchmark applies to them.
