Then by all means, suggest an alternative.
================================================
Well Haim, I think he is right. Could you first say what is wrong with Alans approach???

In the meantime, I'll drive 15 minutes up the road and tell my neighbours that their son who was killed by friendly-fire bombing in Afghanistan was a coward.
=========================================================
Let's see, Was that the one where Bush apologized from a golf cart? I think it was, how nice. How respectful. What great Statesmanship.

Then, on Sunday, I'll rebuke my church for sending 8 people down to help in NYC last fall. Then, I'll call my uncle and tell him that his father was a coward for getting wounded in 1940, over a year before America decided to get into the war.

How anybody could think this sort of "U-S-A!, U-S-A!" trash is funny or even worthy of debate is beyond me. It would seem I am out of step with the times.
===========================================================
Since hate speech is fashionable these days Alan I am afraid you are out of step with the times. We got it all here on SI. Hate speech against the Arabs, hate speech against the Jews, I guess that is not enough. SO why not start in on the Canadians.

Perhaps I am over-reacting a little,
====================================================
No Alan your problem is that you know a little to much history and have to much sense to give in to a "lets go over there and kill them" mentality. I mean look how well "going over there and killing them worked" we bombed the hell of some mountains in Afghanistans killed some civilians a few Canadians and even killed some of Osama's boy's. Oh! Gee we did not get Osama did we? Hmm... Oh well we "went over there and killed them" and thats what counts.

but there are lines in civil discourse that have to be respected. Sorry, but this is garbage and I am done with it.

Auggie is an ignorant Ass and those who are apologists for him are also ignorant. JMO

Allan you have to understrand the american mentality, wherin americans have done more to bail out financially and millitarily more countries then anyone in modern History. We as Americans are disgusted in that, these so called allies, like France and germany who we spent BILLIONS defending and rebuilding refuse to stand behind us in a time of need. The USA has been attacked in several instences in the last several years by Arab fundimentalists, whom have been funded and aided by Countries like IRAQ, IRAN, and saudi Arabi. These countries systamaticly have declared war on the USA by attacking a major economic interest. Their goal to unify Arabs against the western nations. Not unlike the 1930's much of the free world wants to assume that things can be contained, If we just appease the Saudi's and Pallestinians then IRAQ will behave. Unfourtunatly history has been litered with great societies that believed such fatal logic. Rome for instence believed in paying off The hordes in Gaul, and enlist them in their ranks. The Greeks busy squabling amongst themselves were conquered by the Romans. The French as we all know in 1939, as other nation states were overrun by hitler, whom was also believed to be containable. If Hitler had been a litlle more patient he may have been running things, as his Nuke program would have succedded way before anyone here. The problem is Europe and the world wants the easy decision, just forget about him and he will go away. It simply isnt that easy. sadam huesien with a nukelear arsenal would be a catastrophe. Something must be done, and unfourtunatly it will be done by the one nation that has allowed prosparity to flourish by provinding a safe and sound world system to thrive. What will one day be called Pax-americana. Frankly I am an isolationist and believe we should allow all these nut jobs to blow each other up, and I include the French and Germans in that bunch. We will gladly sell them all the guns they need. I do disagree with the Canadian bashing though and feel Brittain, and Canada are America's only true allies who would follow us even if they had some doubts to our strategy. As they have in the past. Canad is an extension of America, and in many ways on improved version, however anyway you look at it Sadam must go, with our without world Opinion. I will remind you of the thrashing Isreal took for bombing Iraqi Nuke plant. Seems they made the tough but correct decision. As will the Untid States.

Do you see the VIX as being in a bullish wedge off of the July highs?

AA, just ignore what you see as offensive to you
