Did you think war with the USSR was inevitable when they had not one or two but thousands of sophisticated nuclear tipped missles aimed at our cities for about 50 years. No, you probably didn't because we had the same and adhered to a containmen defense that came to be known as MAD, ie mutual assured destruction. This is the basic premise for my opposition to invading Iraq.....why would the guy commit suicide now? He is no military threat to anyone......
