A gentle reminder that, although the person herself posts her full name on SI, and refers in her own posts to herself by her first name, and although your wife and and others use the person's first name without eliciting any correction gentle or otherwise, remembering to use the alias is a good idea, would be appropriate and sufficient, don't you feel?

I think it is best not to, despite all who do, and I'm glad for the reminder.

I am not, however, glad to have the reminder treated as though the lapse, which was of minor importance, given the above, were appalling, as X did, suggesting I rush to change it (though she made no such suggestion when your wife did it). Nor am I glad to have the reminder made in this bizarre form. Did you send such a poison pen reminder to your wife?

JC,

Not only that, she said so and so who is your wife said this and this. Maybe everyone else knows that, maybe you don't care and your wife doesn't care but it was a large breach as far as I’m concerned. If I remember correctly Poet lost posting privileges, a week or more, for exposing a husband and wife relationship. Maybe I’m wrong but if my wife was posting on SI an generally staying away from the places I post, I would consider this a huge violation of my privacy. Maybe even a TOU violation.
