On what basis is a stock valued? my understanding is that a stock value reflects the perception of that company and has little to do with the fundamentals.

In simple words the "stock broker" wants to sell at higher price when they are more buyers and buy back at a much lower price when they are more sellers. In other words the broker always wins!

When are you buying back in?

I'm confused by your email, as it implies you are buying back in gradually over the next six weeks. I want to at least wait until we are a week or two into the earnings warning season, and I may end up with only 30 or 40% in the markets long term, unless we get a huge (around 50%) drop in valuations.

What do you think?

Tom
