Well, I'm very surprised Nadine hasn't jumped all over you for that post, John. Perhaps she has better self-discipline than I.

This is merely going to degrade into an Israel discussion. That ground has been covered plenty here. But you present a false alternative, John. You seem to believe that if Israel would have traded the West Bank and Gaza to an Arab entity, in toto, in 67 or after Oslo, there would not be the carnage we see today. That, I would argue, is a fantasy. It ignores 1. the reason Israel occupied and continued to occupy the territories 2. the history of Arab reaction to Israel repeatedly trading land for peace 3. what Arafat has done with what autonomy he was given. I don't see any reason to believe he would have done any different with the whole shabang all at once. He would still have been under the same pressure from the same elements smelling blood and victory and the chance to push the hated Jews into the sea.
