<<Clinton and Lay did play golf together.>>

So very very weak.

They played once. It was Clinton and Jack Nicklaus versus Gerald Ford and his partner Ken Lay.

This idea that Clinton and Lay were buddies is just partisan spin.

Clinton played golf with a lot of people including often the regular members(mostly military or ex) of Army Navy CC in Wash DC. Bush has yet to lower himself and step foot on those grounds.

It's not really a matter of whether these people talk. Nobody cares if Lay talked to Cheney and Junior, it would be expected. The difference is Lay gave them lots of money and use of a plane and financed the goon squads in florida in return for Cheney keeping the federal government out of Lay's California extortion scheme. Junior just played dumbo like usual. If Gray Davis had not brought the scheme to a halt by just buying up energy futures even at a high price they would still be playing today, and it wouldn't be a game of golf.
