I still don't understand why it is "nasty" of JC to mention, without much kindness on his part, that he was pre-banned from a thread. He seems the soul of moderation, compared to me (in my opinion) and yet I am not pre-banned. Why would that be? Why should he not comment? Why is it nasty for him to comment on SMBR closing up shop, it was a thread where he was not treated well, after all.

This is a boxing ring. This is not Polly Pimpernel's Palace of Sweet Thoughts. Perhaps the new threat is that place. In which case it will be dead within a week. :-)

Not really. But seriously, what brings a thread to life? Conflict. Argument. Debate. And the occasional piquant bit of nastiness. I, though, did not see JC as being nasty. I thought the implication by Laz that anyone here would go dance on the corpse of his poor thread was nastyness itself. Of course some people see dancing everywhere, even where people are just chatting. those people are blind. I would not post on his thread alive or dead. And yet, he had to ban me against his own statement that he would not. Is it nasty to mention such hypocrisy? He said I would be dead a long time before I was banned in absentia. Yet, I have not posted there and I am banned. Banned in absentia. And Solon, I tell you, I am not dead.

How in the Hell is asking you a question "close enough to taunting"???

I just backpedaled to come across this question of yours to me.

Perhaps, sir, I could illustrate by asking you some direct or outright questions:

1. Solon, what is the current balance in your checking and savings accounts combined?

2. Solon, when was the last time you had sexual intercourse, and who was your partner?

3. Solon, what is your real name and what is your home address?

See, I would consider these to be taunting (as in mocking) questions to put to you on a chat line.

However, you could blow me away by just answering them truthfully.

Actually, I hope you do this, as I would find the answers to be interesting. Mildly so, at least.
