My only reservations with an Iraq invasion are the lack of international support and that it may ignite an unholy conflagration.

Today I saw my first signs of organized opposition at home. When I woke up this morning, opened one eye, and clicked on the TV, the program on was an organizing meeting for a march on Washington on October 26 to prevent the war from starting. It looks to be a coalition of the usual suspects, various peace and human rights activists. Here is their web site if you want to sign up to supply milk and cookies or carry a banner. ;)

The other big danger is united opposition and military action by the Arabs. (Who knows? Could happen.) We could probably erase Israel from out maps if that happened; they would be a very early target. And our forces would be next.

The Arabs have tried to get rid of Israel before with very little success. The military balance is probably less favorable for the Arabs now then it was during some of the wars they lost. This would even be more true if there was a large American force beating up on Iraq's army.

I'm not saying that it would not be a huge mess if the Arabs really do go against American and Israel in a unified way just that it wouldn't be a simple matter of erasing Israel off the map.

Also I don't think the scenario is particularly likely. Most of the governments don't want to get involved in that sort of thing. They would be nervous about taking on Israel, and they would have to be near suicidal to take on Israel and the US.
