McTeer...what a turd, making public pronouncements off of cocktail banter. What a freaking rube:

"I happened to be at a party with the president of the National Bureau of Economic Research in Jackson Hole last week and, I probably shouldn't say this, but I don't think he expects to have to call it a double-dip recession," he said in answering questions after his luncheon speech.

I have been bearish on platinum and SWC for a while. I just don't see new car sales going anywhere but down. I was just playing SWC for the bounce. 25% down didn't seem appropriate for the news. I was up 5+% at one point but I got greedy and ended up with a small loss. I don't want to be in it long term.

On the other hand, I wonder if platinum will become a safe haven of sorts. Have you noticed how pallidium has tanked while platinum is staying strong? Maybe platinum will hold its value on jewelry and investment demand while pallidium tanks with the auto makers? I don't know if that would be enough to make SWC worth buying as they of course mine both...

On another note: you guys are getting too cryptic on your gold posts. I can't tell who is buying and who is selling anymore... I am about 20-25% out right now. I was 100% in up until a couple of days ago.
