Steve,

re: Wonder how much was added by selling off part of the company?

Uh, earnings haven't been released yet.

What do you think? Intel isn't doing too bad, how 'bout AMD? Are they gaining share with the Spry Athey? Anything left to sell off?

[EDIT] Just took a look on the AMD thread, and there seems to be a silent dissappointment that Intel didn't bomb.

John

Re: Wonder how much was added by selling off part of the company?

AMD has always made all aspects of a sale very clear in terms of the impact on earnings - why is Intel so secretive?

They're always like this, even when there is no need. They just consider the stockholders to be the absolute last ones who should know anything about the company the company they own.

It works out well when it comes time to do things like stop including acquisition costs (goodwill) from the earnings statement, and then report flat earnings by comparing those numbers to the prior year when acquisition costs were included in the earnings statement.
