It has also a potential for confusion - in 1821, after eleven long years since the Grito de Dolores, the mexicanos finally won their independence from a european regime far less enlightened than the brits with whom their two northern neighbours were dealing ... they named their nation, their very ancient nation in its new nation-state form, la Républica de los Estados Unidos de México ...... 'the united states of M' .... i bet you can guess who they were emulating, eh .... of course this was before they could possibly know that the myth-mouthers next door would send slavers to occupy half their country .... they were emulating the french too, there are echoes of 1780s France in la Constitución, this was of course before they had any idea what they would be forced to do that fateful cinco de mayo in Puebla

But it made for two Estados Unidos, so we are back to the drawing board ... this may take all weekend

How about - Oligarchia .... retains four syllables, emphasis moves from second to third ... 'ia' being a dipthong and considered one, of course .... and so right-on descriptive, eh ... i think Herr Gruppenführer Ragosta might like this one, feel more than a little flattered perhaps

[edit] - and it works in haiku! -
