Ron this article is mostly RWE rhetoric and mostly untrue. For the matter it was Bush and Co who ignored the terrorists threats for seven months until 9/11. I find it amusing.........that so many folks are quickly blame Clinton for what happened after he was gone and give him no credit for what happened while he was there........it is truly laughable

Ron,

AG was not lying in his statements in Jackson Hole. The indicators he used to gage the economy were changed in November of 1999 by mixing the report of private figures with the public figures. Everyone knows the public figures are notoriously inaccurate (always). The new combined figures were touted on CNBC as fact and routinely updated the following week. The market reacted to the figures when released at the moment they were made available. AG was flying blind at this point and nervous as can be. It is now known the figures were manipulated (I'm willing to bet AG knew this was a possibility and over compensated for it). I suggest we go back to the old method of reporting the figures separately.
