Sounds as much "practical" as "Pie in the Sky" to me....

It is estimated that the US's ANNUAL COST of 'defending the oil in the Middle East' (forward military deployments, amortized war costs, foreign military aid, etc.) is around $40 Billion.

For that much money every year we could build our own energy independence.

So, is the cost of guaranteeing Exxon's (et al) foreign profits really so "practical"?
