It is merely one way of looking at it. Home grown baddies are home grown, so they become good. You give up to easy. I did not say war was a good. But it could have been won by the south. And guess what, the Vietnamese would have been the beneficiaries too. Yes the corrupt south. Somewhat like the corrupt north, but too lazy to kill a million people in relocation ceremonies. And yes, maybe they would uncorrupt themselves in time too. Any maybe we will too, and we can paint all the backdrops bright colours and turn the lens to full fuzz focus in our happy world. But I won't hold my breath. Humans are bad. They are not good. They steal. They kill. They form cliques. They have torchlight parades on the castle. They tell lies. They are jealous. They are ignorant. It takes a wise set of institutions to hold the tendency to excess and other failures in check. And wise electorate to see when the entrenched lawyers are stealing too much and to elect some other group of thieves. But we never get to vote for communism. It just tells us the perfect system is in place and to smile for the camera or we cannot demonstrate this. The gun is just off camera. I would not take the mexican military elite democracy as a demonstration of populist fairness. But to alternate it with popular socialist rebellion will just replace the bad boss with a worse one. If you can change the government in Mex-SA to one(s) that are more fair, AND do not squander money they don't have or take over banks to print money, how about exporting the formula up here so we can get rid of the fr. dominance of our political machinery?
