Great find!

BTW, Transmet used IBM in the past, but will use TSMC in the future. I believe Via uses TSMC exclusively.

I doubt there is any incentive on part of Intel to help TSMC in any way, even though Intel used TSMC in the past.

If AMD technology is that good, and if it helps UMC, it may change the balance of power between UMC and TSMC in the future.

Anyway, AMD and UMC seem to be ever deepening their relationship. I wonder what the next step will be.

One thing that AMD needs in order to produce CPUs at UMC is (IMO) a replica of AMDs .13u bulk process (and later .09 SOI), with 9 layers. Otherwise, the CPUs will be uncompetitive. I wonder if that's part of the equation. I have not seen anything specific. The SEC document has a lot of info blanked out.
