ACF, it's an ill wind that blows nobody good. One of the good outcomes of the attack on the Twin Towers is that Americans are now a bit more circumspect about giving 'freedom fighter' IRA terrorist sociopathic thugs a stream of cash to murder, mutilate and destroy.

Another of the good things is that there must have been at least a few IRA sympathisers in the buildings.

It always amazed me [since the mid 1970s when I became aware of it in Canada] that ignorant Yanks were funding the IRA murder projects. Americans, imbued with their revolutionary war against the British, are living still in the past and think that the battle is still to be won for the Irish, living under the evil yoke of George II or somebody. Meanwhile, they have their own George II who is making a lot of people around the world nervous; not necessarily the evil doers either.

As jfred pointed out, Americans funded the IRA, who did deals with Ghadaffi or Qadafi or however his name is written in English, whose embassy personnel shot Police Constable Yvonne Fletcher in the street and destroyed the 747 over Lockerbie in retaliation for the USA/British attacks on Libya and the confrontations by USA warships off Libya. Ghaddafi is surely in cahoots with Jihad/Saddam/Osama/etc.

So, whether it went via oil purchases or terrorist donations, American money funded the last 20 years of terrorism, including the most spectacular attacks on the USA [Lockerbie, 911, embassies, Cole, etc, etc]. The money going to the IRA was knowingly funding terrorism. At least that source will have slowed down. Hence the scum in the IRA starting to act civilized in an attempt to keep the money flowing - they have apologized for all the agony they caused; hypocritically because a genuine apology would include major cash payments and I give a double your money back guarantee that they have NOT funded the victims of their madness.

Gerry Adams and sidekicks should be hung from a tree by the neck till he's dead. He's a keen member of the Matrix of Malevolence, still popular among certain wackoes in the USA I have no doubt.

Omar, Omagh and Osama will live for a long time in the annals of horror. They are linked through Gerry Adams and his American supporters.

Yes, yes, I know, it wasn't him that did the Omagh murdering. It was the REAL IRA, which didn't think he was murderous enough. A thread from the same cloth. Details, details...while Gerry was gung ho with the bombing, the REAL IRA were happy enough. Without him, they'd never have got to Omagh stage.

But Gerry was active when the Tower of London tourists, including a family of young children from New Zealand, were blown to pieces by an IRA bomb. A cynical 'apology' is an added insult to the injuries. The hypocritical apology should be held in contempt. Have they handed themselves in and given evidence against themselves? I dare say the apology and sorrow doesn't go that far. Have they paid money? No. Cowardly, evil, malevolent scum of the earth.

BTW, CB is a mongrel - a bit of this and a bit of that, including some Injun [I forget which brand]. All this 'giving back' ignores the fact that youngsters are more interested in mating than eons old family feuds, so the tribal lines around the world are increasingly blurred as distant travel and tribal mixing is now the norm.

So compensating melanin-rich people in the USA for slavery which got their ancestors out of the African mayhem to a better life is absurd. Compensating Injuns is silly too. I'm due for compensation and I dare say hordes of people around the world are too. Anything before the 20th century is history and should be left there.

BTW2 - We don't hear so much of 'deflationary inflation' these days.

OT ... 911 and Blowback.. Message 17970368

<...Those 343--they were mostly tough Catholic men with soft hearts from the outer boroughs. They were Italians and Irish and Poles and Puerto Ricans, and they lined up for absolution, received a blessing and ran into the buildings lugging their gear. Their funerals were at Our Lady Queen of Peace, and St. Rose of Lima Church. And sometimes at the funerals they played an old '70s song whose title you'll never hear the same way again: "Stairway to Heaven."

The other day I got a letter from the mother of Michael Dermott Mullan, Ladder 12, Engine 3, 19th Chelsea. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, a registered nurse attending Hunter College School of Nursing, a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves stationed at Fort Totten, and a New York City fireman. He must have been some guy, Michael Mullen. His mother wanted all of us to know who he was. She wrote, "He was dedicated to the well being and protection of his fellow man." She wrote, "He was second generation Irish by way of County Tipperary, County Down and County Kerry." She wrote, "He loved his God, his Country, his family and his city."

I'd be surprised if a US Army Captain was donating money to the IRA.

But with luck, a few of them were donors to the IRA and the good guys didn't get got. Every one that was IRA-supporting means another innocent person got away.

It always amuses me that they were "Irish, Puerto Rican, Italian ... etc " Why aren't they just American? I don't go on about my ancestors' origins. I'm just me. A Kiwi.

Maybe if they would just be them, they wouldn't send money to terrorists who they naively believe are defending Catholics or something... paying back for the potato famine.... or gaining freedom from the Protestant suppression of the 19th or 18th century... or some equally wacky idea.
