If you recall we made the last bottom at the end of July when several brokerage houses, I think SSB and ML cried uncle and begged and "predicted" a 75 basis points rate cut by the Fed. I think the market rallied on hope that further significant declines can be arrested by the Fed.

The worst possible news then would be the sudden up tick in inflation. I know that everybody is afraid of deflation not inflation these days, but the markets have a tendency to always find the way to prove the majority of investors wrong.
