Well, in your honor we went to "Un Ballo in Maschero" last night. The Prague Opera House is as ornate as one could wish--red velvet, cream enamel, gold leaf, cherubs, putti, naked pagan caryatids with small bare breasts hovering beneath the loges, mirror, paintings, and so on. The settings were good though somewhat surrealistic. I am no judge of opera but I am not sure they really had this one put completely together, and I don't mean the preposterous (as always) plot. But they made a good racket. Also, because of low Monday-might attendance they moved the whole audience to the best seats. We had only paid $12 (each).

Also yesterday we had roast duck, three kinds of dmplings, two kinds of cabbage, and plenty of Pilsner Urquell beer for about $16 for both of us including tip.
