I agree with the totality of your post to Losty, OMD, particularly this: that post of his gave me the creeps, and if the authorities investigate and monitor his activities I for one will not be upset about it. As articulate as Ray often is, I thought his statement (while wildly offensive) was ambiguous. That said, I'm in full support of his statement being turned over to the authorities. Like a compulsive flasher in the subway, we never know when, and under which conditions, the lonely masturbater becomes a physical threat. He should be watched closely, IMO.

If you read what RD wrote in that sentence, perhaps he was not advocating that Congress be blown up. Perhaps he was saying that something of that proportion, if it were to happen, would cause a reaction which would cause America to become more inclined to project power around the globe in a more imperialistic manner ("a full-blown and heinous empire"). I understood him in much the same way. I understood him to say that, if such an attack were to happen, it would provoke martial law and the loss of our freedoms, which would trigger the demise of America, as we know it. He should be more careful when he speaks about bombs. But I can't imagine the FBI being interested in that post.
