How can any sentient human being believe that stagnation and misogyny are preferable to real freedom?

Fundamentalists of a great many stripes--Christian, Jewish, Islam, you name it. Seems to me you are asking for a secular theory of the state, sharp divisions between religion and state. If so, I completely agree.
