AirNet Gets $1.5M In Orders Source: T - Dow Jones News Service Sep 12, 2002 8:10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MELBOURNE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2002--AirNet Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:ANCC), the technology leader in software defined base station products for wireless communications, today announced that it has received approximately $1.5M in expansion purchase orders from TECORE Wireless Systems for deployment in the Afghan Wireless mobile network. These orders are for the purchase of AirNet's latest product, the Triple Capacity Digital AirSite(R) Backhaul Free(TM) base station, commonly known as the "Trip Cap" and installation/commissioning services. "Together with TECORE, AirNet has played an important role in the reconstruction of communications in Afghanistan," said Shiblie O. Shiblie, chief operating officer of TECORE. "With the introduction of Trip Caps into this market, AirNet has yet again proven it has the perfect solution for operators implementing both coverage and high capacity applications." I expect that level of performance to continue." In March 2002, TECORE placed approximately $10M in purchase orders with AirNet for deployment of an initial system in Afghanistan. Afghan Wireless has turned on service in Kabul, Herat, and Mazar-i-Sharif. Other regional markets are scheduled to come on line later this year.
