Yup. All so true. Relevant of course mostly to those few who are determined to capture The Bottom. Which is a very tricky thing indeed. For bottoms, like tops, are only clearly identifiable in hindsight. A dozen serious headfakes are due between some time in the past and some time in the future when the market actually bottoms. These little flareups are the spontaneous ignition of cash in the pockets of folks who have it, and allow it to burn. I suspect when the vast majority of the public sees every rally as yet another sucker punch coming, then THAT will mark the bottom. Doesn't seem to me we're there yet. Indeed, the market will turn up from The Bottom before many of us realize it has done so. I didn't get out until July '00 and so I missed the absolute market top by a few months. I'll be more than pleased with a repeat performance near the bottom. John.
